Em’s illustrations consist of linework blended with warm, limited color palettes and naturalistic themes. They are drawn to working with textures that mimic traditional media like watercolor and paper, to create pieces that can feel cozy and lighthearted or a bit mysterious and unsettling. Em’s art journey began in fourth grade with lessons in a neighbor's garage and has since been motivated by a love for animation and the work of freelance illustrators. Now influenced by Golden Age illustrations, genre paintings, and vintage printed media, their process focuses on creating timeless, atmospheric pieces through detailed drawings in Procreate.

Outside of school, Em enjoys exploring new creative opportunities and connecting with other artists. They’ve co-curated an illustration showcase, tabled at art markets, and are always up for new experiences. Outside of the visual arts, their favorite pastimes include experimenting in the kitchen, learning about fashion, and discovering new music.
