Experimental Animation
I’m an aspiring animator/visual development artist with a love for entomology and the ultimate goal of combining the two. I primarily work with nature and insect-related themes to bring awareness and appreciation to the overlooked, important members of our ecosystem.
My admiration for insects and my passion for all varieties of animation motivate me as an artist to explore new and entertaining concepts surrounding a world so much smaller than ours. Constantly inspired by nature and saddened by the current way bugs are perceived as pests, I hope to use my work to destigmatize insects and open up the minds and hearts of my audience through my art and animation.
As an experimental animator, I utilize all types of mixed media in the process of my artwork, from puppets to hand-drawn, stop motion, and everything in between. My work is not bound by a specific medium and I’ve found appreciation in all forms of animation, embracing the chaotic process of experimenting with different techniques to create my work. With every piece I make, I aim to create something different than the last while maintaining my overall themes surrounding insects and nature.
Through my artwork, I aspire to take my audience on a fun adventure through the compound eyes of an insect while offering a unique visual experience through a wide range of animation styles. I hope that through my work, I can leave audiences with a newfound appreciation for our little-legged friends who live alongside us.
